More about the Album Launch!!
Last week, we were happy to revel the date of Tom Close’s “Sibeza” Album Launch that is slated for 11th and 12th of September. The Launch as we also mentioned will be held in couple of cities country wide including, Butare and Kigali City (and later in Rwamagana and Nyamata on dates to be revealed soon).

This week we caught up with Joseph Mushyoma a.k.a Boubou, president of East African Party (E.A.P), an Event Promotion company that promotes local and regional talent among other things.
They (E.A.P) are the main organizers of Tom Close’s “Sibeza” Album Launch. Boubou talked to tomclose-online.com, about the event itself and what the fans should expect during the three day Launch. Excerpts
What is East African Party?
It’s an Event Promotion Company that has promotion of music and entertainment in the Region as its main goal.
Which events might you have organized?
Well, we organized quite a big number of events like the end of year concert at the Amahoro National stadium and also the Liberation day concert at the same venue. They were all a success despite the fact that we’ve been around for a short time. We also organized the Never Again Concerts which were shown in couple of places around the country.
One of them was closed down by police, what happened?
My company and the National police have a good understanding. They closed down the Liberation day concert because we’d not respected the time we’d agreed to finish the concert.
How will you avoid such an incident this time round?
We shall make sure we respect time such that everything goes as planned.
What is going to be unique about the “Sibeza” Album Launch?
Most of the things we are planning can’t be reveled at the moment. We intend to make it the best launch ever on this land, which will be talk of every music lover’s conversation. It will be the perfect surprise!
Apart from events, what musicians have you managed to bring to Rwanda?
Like I said earlier, our main goal is to promote music in the region. But we’ve started in Rwanda, trying to bring up our own local talent. This is where our main concern is though we’ve managed to stage shows where East Africa’s biggest musicians like, Kidumu, Blue 3, TID, Michael Ross and many others have appeared.
Which musicians are you lining up for the day?
We’ve contacted the Goodlyfe crew of Radio Mowzey and Weasel, and they are more than happy to be here. Also, we shall get the best of our own local musicians.
Thank you very much for giving us some of your precious time.
It’s a pleasure!
